"Tabula Rasa" Latin for Clean Slate, is a family-owned and run Real Estate Brokerage with a focus on Property Sales, Management of Smaller Residential and Commercial Properties, and Property Maintenance and Repairs.  

Our Target Client has multiple smaller properties not usually considered by larger management companies, Estate Administrators with homes that have deferred maintenance that they are trying to sell for the heirs/beneficiaries, Someone who lives out of the area and needs someone they can trust, who has boots on the ground in the area they own property.  We currently service: Hudson, North Essex, Lower Bergen, and Union County.

Lisette Rodriguez

Pulling the strings behind the scenes at the company, Lisette is at the forefront of the business's finances, compliance, and operations. Lisette is a strong, independent woman with trade skills as well as the organizational know-how to keep a business's financial house in order.  Her independent spirit has earned her the right to brag about her major involvement in this company as the Broker of Record and other tasks ranging from woodwork refinishing, grout, and paint up to property remodeling design, bookkeeping, collections, and business development.    

Lisette moved from Brooklyn, NY with her family to New Jersey during her young teenage years.  She always watched plenty of real estate, selling, and renovations TV shows, while growing up still living with Mom and Dad. She enjoys watching the transformation of the ugly duckling house into a beautiful home.  Lisette has joyfully tried some renovation jobs in her parents' home whenever they permitted her to.  She later went on to have summer jobs during her high school years as a painter in some of her local North Arlington School District Buildings.  Real Estate had become a passion without her realizing it.

Fortunately, Lisette married someone who was just as interested in real estate as she was.  Together they have bought homes, and renovated them personally, leveraging their trade skills, and the help of friends and trusted team members. Those homes have turned into rental investment income.

She loves to assist people in purchasing their home, either to live in themselves, flip, or to hold for investment income.  Lisette uses her experience and foresight to proactively address details before they become a problem.  Handling each client as if they were her brother or sister and the property as if they were her own.

Lisette, Manages the books for the business when she is not representing sellers who are looking to list and sell their homes. She uses the latest, first-class, internet technology-based marketing tools to expose her clients' properties to the widest possible range of qualified buyers. 

When the real estate market would slow down, typically in the winter months, Lisette used to teach tax courses locally to build her knowledge.  She is highly knowledgeable of deductions and credits one can take as a homeowner or an investor in real estate.  In her free time, she enjoys going camping alongside her Children and Senior Citizen dog Taz.  Oh, she lets her husband join them as well...

Driven by the unwavering love of a single mom with a strong work ethic and the strong character and guidance of an overprotective, or as he would describe it,  loving brother...  Ruben has learned many valuable lessons through the experience of those around him as he grew up in Jersey City.  Having experienced growing up in the inner city and living in a variety of neighborhoods in Hudson, Bergen, and Essex counties gives a unique perspective on the difference in the quality of life residents experience in various neighborhoods.  With life's experiences in mind, Ruben lives to deliver a higher standard of living for residents at his managed properties and by delivering that higher standard service level translating that service level to higher standard profits for properties in his portfolio of managed properties.     

Ruben seeks to let his experience be your asset.  He has spent over a decade and a half working firsthand in all areas of real estate and business, which he felt would be critical to running a successful rental real estate business.  He chose the path of real-time work experience as his teacher.  He would say, there is nothing like self-created, paid training...  Inspired by the challenge of life.  Following a path paved before him by mentors and a tight network of great advisors in various real estate disciplines.  His network of trusted advisors includes disciplines, such as Real Estate Sales and Leasing Agents, Home Improvement Contractors, Residential Rental Real Estate Investment Pros, Landlord-Tenant Law focused attornies, Self-Employment Tax, and Real Estate tax Pros. 

Ruben enjoys travel as much as his travel reading.  He is always open to suggested reading on topics such as: management, motivation, entrepreneurship, real estate investing, etc...  Ruben is a business junky.  He loves rental real estate, dealing with tenants, troubleshooting home repair issues, and last but not least, receiving rent checks...  He says "There is nothing like doing what you love to earn a living." With a mind full of great ideas ready to be unleashed to shape rental real estate management, in a simple, easy, and profitable way.  He desires to help others leverage his system to enjoy more time doing what they want, not what the property requires of them.  

Ruben is a nature, space, and psychology lover.  A student of real estate he works towards his goals with his wife and network of trusted advisors.  He enjoys traveling to view historic sites, and nature trips with his family and friends. He also enjoys furthering his knowledge of clean energy, psychology, and science in general.
